I have a PhD in art history from the CUNY Graduate Center (2002). For the past twelve years I've taught the history of art & design at Pratt Institute. My dissertation was on the Abstract Expressionist painter, Barnett Newman, and his true devotion to philosophical anarchism. Fascinating. Most of the courses I teach are in graphic design history, design theory, 20th century art and design movements. Now I'm researching world's fairs. Additionally I've recently completed a master's degree in Pratt's library & information science program. I love libraries and wanted to find out what was happening from the inside out. An eye opener to say the least. I'm glad to be part of today's information service world. Next semester my interests will meld in a class I’ll teach on research and writing for art & design history majors.
