Johanna Porr was named the new director of the Historical Society of Newburgh Bay and the Highlands this month. She is a City of Newburgh native who worked as an Historian at Washington's Headquarters for much of the past decade. Her historical and museum research projects have ranged from archaeology at Historic Jamestown to exhibit planning at the Smith College Museum of Art but are mostly focused on understanding George Washington's military and political networks during the Revolutionary War.
