I am a Metadata Librarian/Assistant Professor at the CUNY Graduate Center where I work in digital project planning and implementation, including the development of metadata best practices to improve and maximize information retrieval for cultural and historical digital collections. Currently, I'm interested in exploring the connections between archives and digital humanities, and how this combination can aid in increased access to archives. I'm the founder of the Welfare Rights Initiative Digital Oral History Project, which is an online, open source, open access digital oral history archive. My research interests include digital humanities, metadata standards and their evolving role in the Semantic Web environment, memory studies, history and storytelling.
